Living with Food Allergies? Celiac? Intolerances?

Welcome to this new blog which corresponds to the new YouTube channel:
Family Allergy Pro!

First and Foremost I am a Mom of an average American family afflicted with food allergies. My kitchen is peanut, tree nut, dairy, egg, wheat and gluten free. We live daily with life threatening food allergies, food intolerances, and oral allergy syndrome. Our life is free of these allergens and then some.

When initially challenged with a complex food allergy diagnosis (and seriously suspecting Celiac) six years ago, my kitchen was turned upside down. I was hard pressed, to say the least, finding any practical living information on food allergies or gluten. Specialty items for purchase were few and far between. I went from being a good cook and fantastic baker (according to my husband and children) to being utterly at a stop overnight. Over these years I have learned a great deal. I can now honestly say my family leads a relatively normal life.

I have some practical things to offer you - hopefully with a sense of humor, and a dash of whimsy. We find these items helpful and hopefully you will too. I have things to share on a wide range of practical allergy living related topics like packing lunch boxes, snacks for school, navigating outings and trips, Epipen cases for both children and adults, birthday parties, handling holidays, family gatherings or gatherings of any kind outside your home. I'll post product reviews too. I also hope to feature interviews with people you may find interesting.

I want to address your practical allergic living concerns. Please send me your suggestions and your request. I will do my very best to address your topics. I will also be frank if your question is beyond my scope of experience. Ultimately, it is my experience I can willingly share with you.

Please know that my family works with an Allergist and Family Physician to manage our personal health issues and allergies, etc. Nothing I say here should be taken in place of your personal physicians guidance. My family members and I are not medical professionals. We are simply living our life with allergies and dietary restrictions.

Please, join us on a journey of living a happy life along side of food allergies.
All the best,
Mom
